Emirates increases daily flights between Toronto and Dubai
Great news from Emirates! The airline has announced an increase in daily services between Toronto and Dubai, starting from April 20th. This means more flight options for students in Canada traveling to and from the UAE.
Emirates’ three-class, 491-seat A380 aircraft will be used for this daily service, which will be complemented by partner Air Canada’s daily operations as well. The move comes after the UAE and Canadian governments agreed to allow airlines from each nation to increase flights by 50%.
With the current pandemic situation, it is insightful to look back at 2019 to understand the passenger traffic. During that year, Emirates flew five weekly flights to Toronto and had 254,000 roundtrip Dubai-Toronto-Dubai seats available for sale.
Of these, approximately 232,000 passengers traveled with Emirates, with India being the biggest market followed by Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Iran, Afghanistan, South Africa, Mauritius, and Kuwait.
For Canadian students, this increased connectivity may open up more opportunities to travel to the UAE and beyond. Emirates already offers flights to many popular destinations in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East from its hub in Dubai. Plus, if you’re a student looking to study abroad or participate in an exchange program, this daily service can make travel planning much easier.
There are also speculations about Emirates expanding to other Canadian cities such as Montreal and Vancouver. In 2019, Montreal had around 445,000 roundtrip passengers to/from the Middle East, Eastern Africa, Southern Africa, South Asia, and Central Asia, which are core targets of Emirates and its narrow-body partner, flydubai.
Similarly, from Vancouver, it was around 560,000 passengers. While nothing is confirmed yet, Canadian students could benefit from more flight options in the future.
So get ready to pack your bags and fly with Emirates for an unforgettable travel experience!
