Torontonians react to HMV’s closure announcement

(By: Nicole Di Donato)

HMV Canada announced that they will be closing all 102 of their remaining stores, including the Toronto flagship store on Yonge Street, by April 30. On Jan. 27, the heavily-indebted music retailer was put into receivership. The stores will remain in operation until they sell most of their merchandise at liquidated pricing.

After 30 years in the business, some are sad to see HMV go, while others say they aren’t surprised. Reporter Nicole Di Donato spoke to Torontonians about their thoughts on the closure.
