Ryerson Sports Business Association to Host Annual Conference Saturday

The sports industry already generates billions of dollars in revenue, but it is constantly expanding and diversifying.  As the industry continues to grow, the opportunities for employment are vast.  If you have considered a career in sports, or believe you may be interested, do not miss the Ted Rogers Sports Conference this Saturday, March 5.

The focus of the conference is to help students interested in a career in the sports industry by educating them on different career paths and providing an opportunity to network within the industry.

It is a full day of events including a presentation from keynote speaker Jim Barker, the general manager of the Toronto Argonauts; a panel discussion with industry professionals; workshops led by Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and Ryerson’s Digital Media Zone; a sports business career expo and the inaugural case competition.

Delegates will have the opportunity to engage in conversation with professionals specializing in IT and analysis, sports sponsorship, business, broadcasting, creative marketing and the growing world of fantasy sports.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and prizes will be awarded for most engaged delegate and best dressed delegate, including a one-on-one mentoring session with a former NFL corporate executive of sales.
