If you like electro hip-hop, you will definitely like what you’re going to hear from Canadian band Radio Radio.
After four previously released albums and hundreds of live shows, they decided to switch up their sound with their fifth studio album Light the Sky. This full-length English album is a big change from their normal mixture of French and English. With the album being fully in English, Light the Sky could help the band rise above and break into the mainstream electro hip-hop market.
The change came naturally to band members Gabriel L.B. Malenfant and Jacques Alphonse Doucet who grew up in Nova Scotia where both languages are spoken by the local citizens.
Featuring a combination of rap, electronic and upbeat hip-hop sounds, Radio Radio’s new single “Tonight’s the Night” is full of energy and catchy lyrics. The single could bring back memories of LMFAO, who were also a duo of the same genre, but Radio Radio has a much less offensive spin.
The duo will be joined by touring members Steve Caron and Kim Ho playing shows across Quebec in February before heading to Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia in March. If you like the sound of their first single, check them out on March 10 at Adelaide Hall in Toronto.
Give the first single “Tonight’s The Night” a listen and make sure to pick up Light the Sky on February 19, 2016 via their record label Bonsound.
